VBS June 3-6
Monday - Thursday 6-8 PM
Our goal is to enhance your child's spiritual education from birth in a fun, interactive, and age-appropriate fashion. Beginning from the first month of life we have a curriculum designed to move with your child until they reach K!DS!
Nursery
Baby Beginnings is a 2-year long program organized by 12 important monthly themes and equips leaders, caregivers, and parents with the tools to help little ones take their first steps in learning about God.
Preschool
Giggle and wiggle. Run and sing. This is the wonderful world of preschoolers. So how do we teach these energetic little ones about Jesus? We let them play while they learn. Gospel Light has designed a simple, three-step teaching plan that keeps children involved in lively activities, while they learn about God. It's as simple as:
Play.
Listen.
Talk.
Kids will love the games, drama, art, music, stickers, storytelling and cool puppets as they learn about God's Word and how to apply it to their daily lives.
Our preschool department also utilizes the use of a rotating classroom setting. All children from age two through kindergarten arrive at their homerooms and are rotated to different learning centers through out their time with us. Volunteers and workers interact with children in fun activities that both reinforce and enhance the biblical truths they are learning. We provide a take-home guide that will allow parents to not only be able to go through the lesson with their children at home, but it also provides fun activities to engage with your child. The combination of home and the church involvement help provide a more well-rounded spiritual experience for your children.
Bible Skills to Be Learned
By the time a child has completed Gospel Light's Early Childhood curriculum, he or she should be able to:
- Tell that the stories in the Bible are true.
- Tell that the Bible is God's news to us.
- Recognize by sight Bible words such as "Jesus" and "God."
- Listen with understanding to Bible stories and verses.
- Tell that God gave the Bible to help us learn about His love and His plan to send His son, Jesus.
- Name everyday actions that show obedience to Bible verses.
- State in his or her own words Bible truths about ways to love and obey God.
Bible Knowledge and Life Response
To help the child:
Know that God loves and cares for us; that God sent Jesus to show His love for us; that God's Word helps us learn about the greatness and goodness of God and the Lord Jesus.
Respond by demonstrating love for God through kindness, helpfulness and thankfulness; by talking to God in prayer.
